Wool Comforter Duvet King Organic

Wool Comforter Duvet King Organic

WOOL COMFORTER - MEDIUM WEIGHT - NATURAL HAND-TIED CHEESECLOTH COVER

Our wool comes from our USDA Organic Sheep Farm in Howell, Michigan. The raw wool is then processed into finished wool (5lbs) and sewn into the comforter by artisans at the Zeilinger Wool Co. in Frankenmuth, MI. It is both a beautiful and cozy work of art that is made entirely in Michigan! :)

MATERIALS USED IN OUR COMFORTERS • 100% USDA Certified organic wool • Natural hand-tied cheesecloth cover

WEIGHT Each comforter uses five pounds of finished wool (refined from 10 pounds of raw wool) to make and has a total weight of six pounds.

SIZE King - 108"x90" (274cm x 228cm)

CARE First, we strongly recommend using a duvet cover and washing the cover when necessary. If you must clean the comforter itself, dry-cleaning is recommended and be sure to inform the dry-cleaner that the filling is wool. As noted above, wool fill naturally repels moisture and dirt so it is inherently clean. The cheesecloth may be spot cleaned with mild soap solution. May be exposed to sun and aired to freshen.

SHIPPING Our comforters are shipped by USPS Priority Mail Express and take 3-5 business days to arrive.

WHY A WOOL COMFORTER? • Wool has balanced thermal insulation properties - meaning it is warm in winter and cool in the summer.
• Wool is hypoallergenic - it is resistant to bacteria, mold and mildew that can trigger allergic reactions in many people.
• Wool absorbs harmful pollutants (WAIT! READ ON...) - not only does wool absorb many harmful pollutants from the air, it does not re-emit them. It's estimated that wool used in interiors can help purify the air for 30 years.
• Dust mites don't like wool - dust mites need moisture to survive. Wool has microscopic pores that respond effectively to changes in humidity making it unfavorable for the growth and breeding of the house dust mite. Dust mite allergens are one of the triggers for asthma attacks.
• Wool is naturally anti-static - wool generates very little static electricity because of the qualities of its natural fibers. Static attracts lint, dirt, and dust, so its anti-static properties keep it much cleaner for longer.
• Wool is naturally flame resistant - wool is difficult to ignite, has low flame spread and heat release properties; it does not melt and has superior self-extinguishing qualities.
• Wool is a naturally renewable fiber - what could be more natural than wool? Each year our USDA Certified organic sheep produce a fleece, which makes wool a natural and renewable resource. As yet, no one has been able to reproduce the properties of wool synthetically.
• Wool is eco-friendly and sustainable - when it's 'out with the old' wool will naturally biodegrade. It is a totally natural product, entirely renewable and sustainable. AND it is 100% biodegradable - a very important feature in a world that is increasingly concerned about the environment.
